That’s racist, but I can’t really say that.

I got ito a little argument on Twiter yesterday with someone who stated in a nutshell that a white person wasn’t qualified to say what is racist. That’s like saying that only a fish can define water. or a gentile can’t define antisemitism or the holocaust .

Now, I’m not going to get into what is and isn’t racist. Only this concept that only some prople are allowed to do some things, and it’s off limit to the rest of us. Some people have taken racism as their own personal cross and they’re gonna parade it through the streets and dare anyone to say anything about it.

According to Websters, the definition of racism is: “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race”. In other words, the belief that one race is superior to another. This is the definition. It doesn’t matter who states it. Of course there will be some people that will discount that definition because there are probably white people working at Websters.

We can’t allow one group of people to tell another that they are not “qualified” to define something simply because maybe they’ve not experienced it first hand. It doesn’t matter how much they scream and stomp their feet like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum. I’m not backing down myself. Y’all can let the babies run all over you all you want.
